3 random facts

April tagged me for this one. :-)

1. I used to collect stuffed skunks as a child. I had about 10 of them. Now that I am older, I have over 20. :-) Now I decorate my classroom with them. No, my theme is not "little stinkers"...LOL!!!!! It is "Scent-sational Students!"

2. I have 4 children who were born on 3 different continents. Daniel was born in Europe. Morgan was born in North American. Kelsey and Rachel were born in Asia.

3. I graduated for college in 2 years and 8 month with a BA in psychology and elementary education and a minor in social studies (history). (Now I have a MA degree too.) I am organized and love to see how I can fit things (like classes) into a schedule. :-) (Well... here's the bonus random fact... I may look organized to the outside world, but my own bedroom is a DISASTER and always has been. :-) )

Love It!

I love, love, love my new Kindle reader!! It is so convenient. I can adjust the font size, read with one hand or two, read in bed, and read anywhere! This only weights 10.3 oz-- amazing!! I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves to read--- young and old! Both of the big kids think it is great... when I let them look at it! Here are some pictures of my Kindle as it arrived.

40!

Yes... it was my birthday! Rachel and I share a birthday on April 26th. On Friday, April 25th, my dear husband and my friends Beth and Carrie decorated my classroom! It looked like this when I walked in on Friday morning. Yes, there was confetti on the floor and 40 black balloons!! Oh my, so much for keeping age a secret. :-) Daniel brought Rachel and Kelsey to school to help me bring home the balloons and see all the goodies. Thanks guys. :-)

My fellow 4th grade teachers (Pat, Lisa, and Kathy) along with Carrie and Kari had a 4th grade lunch for me. We try to eat lunch together on each person's birthday. We had pizza and chocolate cake. They gave me 40 lottery tickets. Terri gave me a darling book and some  yummy chocolates and joined us for desert. Jenna poked her head in, but had duty and had to run. We had a great time! Thanks everyone!

Actually, we have a 4/40 club at work. There are 4 of us turning 40 this school year.... Kari, me, Kathy, and Allison.

Payday!

Daniel was so excited to receive his first paycheck. He gets paid every two weeks. This than his normal check will be because he worked more hours due to spring break.

Can the mailman bring any more goodies today? ....YES! I ordered this book last week when April was talking about it for Paige. This looks wonderful! It has activities for each age level. I plan on following April's approach with Rachel. I cannot believe that I haven't heard of this book before. It looks fun and educational at the same time. I can see daycares and other caregivers using this. It is so simple.

  I am going to try a few with the girls and let you all know how it goes. Not today... tired mommy!

By the way, I have gone my whole life without knowing anybody named April. Now I know two Aprils!

Oh happy day! Not only am I reading books. I can read my blogs for free!! No cost. I read them through igoogle. Wow!
