There is a story behind Daniel's shirt. The senior class heard that the county was putting locks on all of the schools to increase safety. They thought it would make their senior year more difficult... like they were in a penitentiary! LOL! Silly seniors, they are putting this on all schools... not to keep you in, but to keep others out!! Anyway, they tried to get black and white striped shirts, but they were too expensive. They ended up with their school color (orange). The shirts really were cute! There are about 350 seniors, I think. They all wore their shirts the first day of school. I can't wait to see the group photos!
Today was Kelsey and Rachel's first visit to the dentist. At our dentist office, the first visit or 2 are "Happy Visit." The girls went in to see all of the dentist's tools. They got to ride in the chair, have their teeth "counted", try the water, try the air, and feel the spinning toothbrush. I was really impressed, they allowed the hygienist to do more than I thought they would. Morgan was a big help too! They were quite brave with their big sister's arms around them!
There is a story to the other dental chair. On October 2, 2006, I was sitting in this chair when Erin from Harrah's called to say that we were going to become Rachel's parents! I had taken the afternoon off from work. I was a nervous wreck because we had to petition to be Rachel's parents. There were other families that wanted to bring her home. I thought we would get the "yes or no" before my 4:30 dentist appointment. Well, the call didn't come, so I brought my cell to the dentist. Sure enough... Erin called!
Rachel loves to sing and dance! The oven is her favorite mirror. :-)
Remember this video?
Here she is this year!
If you cannot view the second video, try back in 5 minutes. It takes a little while to upload. The 2nd video is clear on my computer. I don't know why her face is blurry on the upload.

I have to make videos for Daniel and Morgan. Their pictures are not digital and all have to be scanned in! This video has all 4 kids in it!
I am serving on an educational committee in Richmond for the Virginia Department of Education. I have never been away like this before. My sister-in-law, Beth, came down to stay with the kids while Chuck was working. I am learning a lot and finding this process fascinating. The girls (and big kids) are happy to have Aunt Beth and Cousin Jessica down to visit. They had a good first day. Until.... we used Skype! Skype is the live video call via the computer. Kelsey tried it last night when Rachel was asleep. Tonight the two of them tried it. OK... break Mommy's heart and make me feel badly. Rachel sobbed and tried to touch my face on the screen. She wanted Mommy. (I/we thought Skype would make her feel better not worse. :( ) Here is a picture that Aunt Beth took for me and sent it via a cell phone. It shows are second attempt at talking. Poor Rachel is only whining and not crying in this picture.
They did have a good time today. They went swimming, had Taco Bell, went to BJs, and rode bikes in the front yard!
Ok... don't look at the picture below if you are squeamish. Rachel had an accident with a Hot Pocket. She loves Hot Pockets. They were one of the first things she ate when she finally ate. So... in the hotel last night, the girls had Hot Pockets. Well, they were too hot! I laid them on the bed (no table in the room-- I am not sure whey I didn't lay them on the desk. :( ) on a towel to cool. I told the girls not to touch because they were hot. They didn't touch. They were bouncing on one bed. When I turned around Rachel was on the bed with the Hot Pockets. Just as I saw her, she bounced and landed on it! She started screaming. Right away, I knew what was wrong. The cheese had come out and was on her toes!!! I scooped it off quickly and ran her into the bathroom to run water on it. She settled right down, and I thought all was fine until I saw her toe this morning!!! My poor baby, she didn't even complain today. However, it freaked mom out to see such a big burn blister on her little toe. The professionals say to keep it clean and it will eventually break on its own. Then it will need meds to keep it from being infected. What a terrible thing! It really was an accident, but I feel badly for her. She is ok though!
PS How did I know what was wrong so quickly? I once saw someone get burned by a "killer" pop-tart in a similar manner. The pop-tart popped up out of the toaster and landed frosting side down on someone's hand. They got a burn from the frosting.
PSS I have no idea why part of this post is underlined. I can't get it to go away.
Rachel has been with us for over a year now! We are so proud of the growth Rachel has made. Please enjoy the many faces of Rachel. You can see older pictures of her below this slide presentation.
This weekend's reunion will be all about Kelsey. I wanted to take a minute and show of our youngest sweetie! (Daniel and Morgan: I know you don't like pictures, but I will show you off too this summer!!)
This video is a little long for people who are not family. But... it is so cute!
