Where have I been? Oh....my.... I should have gotten more done over Spring Break. I started the break with a party for Morgan and 9 of her friends in a hotel room. The last day of the break was spent having a birthday party for 17 children AND parents for Kelsey and Rachel. I am in the middle of moving things around in the house. The girls have a new habit of getting out of their toddler beds and playing when the should be napping or sleeping at night. I had a big six foot gate stretched across in front of their toys, but they have learned to move it or climb over it. Oh yes... they open the closet and their dresser and put on different clothes and get into stuff.
So... I was supposed to move things around during the break. I didn't get it done because I was so indecisive. I was going to make the den into a playroom... but that would require Daniel moving his computer into his bedroom. That is what he would like, but I don't want to do. So, he could move the computer into the sunroom and put the extra desk into my bedroom. We never got around to doing this. My new solution is to make the sunroom into a playroom. It has heating and air conditioning and is attached to the living room with a sliding glass door, so we can see the girls play. There is already a computer desk in their, a TV, two bookcases, and a full size couch. Things have to be moved. Daniel and I pushed the bookcases and desk aside.... until they can be moved into place. I put the toys in the sunroom. Those need to be organized too. Right now the sunroom has toys on one side and furniture stuffed into the other side. I will get to it SOON!
We were going to buy and install a swing set and fence over the break. It rained for 4 days, so that didn't get done. We did look at swing sets. Did you know that you can buy swing sets from $100 to $42,000??? That is right --- $42 thousand!! We went to a very nice showroom too see one brand of swing sets. It might be worth it to pay extra to have it delivered, installed, etc. Well, we will look again this weekend.
Today at work we handed out pizzas for a fund raising event. It was an extra 1 and 1/2 hours after work. It was not a problem and kind of fun. Daniel picked up the girls, and he and Morgan watched them until I got home. Morgan called at 5:45 and asked to give the girls a bath. When I asked her why, she said that they were sticky from their bubbles. Oh...how nice, they played with bubbles.... Chuck pulled in the driveway as I was talking to her, so I told her to go ahead and give them a bath. I got home and there was more to the bubble story! I stepped into my bedroom onto some squishy carpet. It seems that they were not playing with Morgan and bubbles. They were playing by themselves! The birthday gifts were on the floor from their party. They opened 4 8 ounce bottles of bubbles and spilled them on my carpet!!!!! What were Daniel and Morgan doing????? They have no idea how this could have happened. The girls were only in MY room for a MINUTE!!!--- really, mom, only a minute or two!
I have Bunco tomorrow night. I love Bunco. It is one night a month and a chance to spend time with 11 of my friends. :-) Well, guess what, this month it is at my house! The girls go to bed at 8:30 and want to climb all over visitors. So Terry being the kind person that she is offered to have it at her house. This was so sweet and a huge relief for me. I am providing the food, picking up the prizes, setting up, and cleaning up. She is so sweet to have it at her house!! Tonight I have had the bubble incident and nothing for Bunco. I had to run around like a crazy person to get the Bunco prizes and figure out what food we are having.--- Oh yes, I have to work tomorrow. When am I going to cook anything???? Can you say "Take Out"? Seriously, we will have a lot of fun tomorrow! .... once things are ready!
One more thing coming up.... our social worker is coming to our home on Saturday to do the one year report on Rachel. (It has been 11 months, but the report has to be done by May 21st. She needs time to write it.) Wait--- my house!!! I guess I (or all of us) will be cleaning on Friday night and Saturday morning!
(Yes, Rachel is legally ours. This is just a formality. China likes two reports after we come home at six months and one year.)
A friend told me that one of our other friends said, "She (me) makes it all (having 4 children & working) look so easy!" LOL!!!!! I had to laugh at that! That is too funny!!! The other friend really must not know me or is just being very nice.
Really, life is good. It is just a crazy, crazy busy time. I need to go back to my scheduling and list making so things don't all hit at once.
I know that I still have to put pictures up from the girls' party. I will. It was fun!! But I need to label them and haven't had time. (I have had quite a few people e-mail me and ask if everything was OK because I haven't blogged in awhile. Things are fine. Thanks for checking on me.)
I need to respond to about 50 emails and get back on line with my dear 4 Plus 4 family (our travel group). 4plus4-- I am here and really want to answer, but haven't had a chance. (Michelle, I owe you a long email!)
Chuck says that my computer is really messed up. (I am on his now. ) It is so bad that he says he is going to bed and will work on it later. It is slow and won't connect, etc. Oh no! What will I do without a computer???? It isn't time for a new one yet. He says he will fix it soon.
With all that to do you would think I would be doing it. NO- not me! I am not doing anything now. (... although I did get 5 out of 6 Bunco gifts bought.) I am thinking.... I need to blog/write about this so people know where I am. My NY family keeps track of me on this website, my adoption buddies, and other friends keep in touch with the website. So.... I WANT to be doing this (sitting here on the computer).
Hugs to my friends and family! I do think about you all and want to share our lives with you. I am just busy. I will try to get things posted someday soon. .... like after Bunco, cleaning the house, and the social worker comes.... oh yes, and I take a long nap!!!
(I know my mother is not reading this. She doesn't like or understand when I post like this. She just wants to see pictures of the kids. If she is reading this-- are you mother?-- she is thinking.... "Why is she airing her dirty laundry on line?!?) LOL!!! Are you there mother?
Chuck cooked dinner! Love that man!
Life is good!!
(Carol, Lisa, and Kate--thanks for laughing with me tonight. My phone buddies got me through this crazy day. It was just nice to laugh!)
